COLLEGE FOOTBALLBig Green loses Bair

HANOVER — Dartmouth College running back Zack Bair is out for the season because of a knee injury suffered two weeks ago, Big Green coach Buddy Teevens said after Tuesday’s practice.

Bair, a sophomore who ran 16 times for 83 yards and a touchdown during Dartmouth’s first three games, appeared on the verge of a breakout campaign before getting his knee twisted in a pile at Pennsylvania on Oct. 4. Because he did not play in four games this season, Bair can apply for a fifth year of eligibility from the Ivy League.
