CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — After the dropping the first two sets, the Dartmouth College volleyball team rallied for a 21-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-6 win over Harvard for its first Ivy League win of the season.

Freshman Makenzie Arent had a double-double with a team-high 27 assists and 12 digs. Francesca Meldrum tallied a team-high 14 kills and a .571 kill percentage; Bella Hedley added 15 digs and four service aces.

The Big Green visits Brown on Friday.

Field Hockey Princeton 4, Dartmouth 0

HANOVER — Sammy Popper scored twice to lead the 10th-ranked Tigers (4-4, 1-0) past the Big Green (2-5, 0-1) in the Ivy League opener for both schools.

Clara Roth and Ali McCarthy accounted for Princeton’s other goals. Sophomore netminder Isabella Santucci played well in goal for Dartmouth, making eight saves and getting three defensive stops from teammates Cecelia Monnin, Jensen Palmer and Katie Persin.

HANOVER — Star White broke a 1-1 draw with a goal in the 56th minute, and the Bears (7-1-1, 1-0-0) outlasted the Big Green (7-2-0, 0-1-0) in the Ivy League opener for both squads.

Abby Carchio put the visitors on top in the sixth minute. Erin Kawakami drew Dartmouth level on a pass from Izzy Glennon in the 35th.

Women’s Golf Green 10th in N.J.

PRINCETON, N.J. — The Big Green is 10th at the 13-team Princeton Invitational after opening with an 18-over-par 306 on Saturday.

Freshman Samantha Yao, whose score didn’t count toward the team tally, had a 2-under 70 a  nd is tied for fourth through 18 holes. Sophomore Kristen Chen shot a 3-over 75 for Dartmouth, the best score that applied to the team standings.

WOMEN’S TENNISGreen racks up wins

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Dartmouth players won seven of 10 singles matches and three of five doubles encounters on the second day of the Bulldog Invitational.

The Big Green pulled out three of five three-setters against UMass. Dartmouth also claimed doubles wins over Boston College and Denver.

The tournament ends Sunday.
