GRAFTON, NH — Howard A. “Chip” Seamans, II died September 21, 2019, at Genesis Care Center in Lebanon. He was born at Mary Hitchcock Memorial hospital on January 24, 1953 to Howard A. Seamans, I and Thelma R. (Hall) Seamans. He graduated from Mascoma Valley Regional High School in 1971. He was employed at The Lebanon Listen Center, then worked until retirement at Dartmouth College.
On September 16, 1972, he married Margaret (Peg) Hazelton of Lebanon. They lived in Enfield, NH for a while, then moved to North Hartland, VT. In 1988, they purchased the Seamans homestead in Grafton, NH from his parents, where he lived until his death.
Chip was predeceased by his wife, Peg, in May 2018. Also predeceasing him are his parents Howard & Thelma, brother, Alan Seamans and sister Anita Seamans. He is survived by brother Thomas (Marilynn) Seamans and family, sisters Sandra (Fred) Barker and family, and Elaine (Albert) Stone and family. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt, Phebe Belloir and uncle, Kernel Seamans from his father’s side, as well as Peg’s sister, Linda Richardson and husband, Robert.
His lifelong interests included motorcycle riding, enjoying time in the woods with his wife on ATVs and going to camp in Pittsburg. He was an active member of the NRA and a staunch Republican.
In memory of Chip, donations to the Upper Valley Humane Society in his name would be welcome.
Per Chip’s request, there will be no services. Ricker Funeral Home is in charge of cremation. His ashes will be buried by his wife’s side at Pine Grove Cemetery in Grafton, NH at the convenience of his family.
