WOODSTOCK, VT — Peter G. Hall, 79, died, with his wife by his side, early Tuesday morning September 17, 2019 at his home following a four year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He was born on March 21, 1940 in Westfield, MA the son of Peter N. and Barbara (Gage) Hall.

Peter’s family moved to Vermont when he was 2 and Woodstock when he was 9. Peter graduated from WUHS in 1958 and from Norwich University in 1962 with a BS in Business Administration. He then served two years in the US Army as an Armor Officer. He married Bobbi Bailey in 1961 with whom he had 2 children.

Peter worked as an accountant for Cross Co., Smith, Batchelor & Rugg, and Phil Wheeler before starting his own accounting business in 1974. He was also the co-owner of Pete and Bill’s Variety store for 9 years.

Peter married Sharon (Snow) Lavasser in 1974 and together they enjoyed their home on Gully Road as well as spending winters in Saddlebag Lake, Florida from 2009 until 2015 when Peter became too ill to travel.

Peter was a member of the American Legion Post #24 and a 50+ year member of BPOE #1541; serving as Lodge Treasurer, Past Exalted Ruler, Past District Deputy, Past National Special Deputy, VT State Secretary for 22 years, served on the Grand Lodge Committee for 14 years, and most importantly Past member of the Board of Grand Trustees (the highest post anyone has held in Vermont.

Peter was extremely proud to be a 14 gallon blood donor to the American Red Cross prior to his illness.

Peter is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Hall, Children; Terry Lavasser-Green(David), Tammy Standley (Ron), Ethan Hall (Linda), Shannon Hall (Britt Lafield), Siblings; Leah Cohen, Robin Hall, and Bill Hall, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, and Miss Kitty. He is pre deceased by his parents, a brother Jerry Hall, and sister Patricia Soule.

There will be a celebration of life at the Hall Family cemetery September 28th at 2:00 pm followed by a reception at their home.
