HANOVER — Wendy Bordeau has stepped down as Dartmouth College women’s rowing coach after two stints over 11 years and 14 total years working for the Ivy League school’s athletic department.

Bordeau made Big Green women’s crew nationall relevant by guiding the program to a trio of NCAA championship appearances during her first stint as coach, from 2005-14. Bordeau moved to an administrative role as a senior associate athletic director in ’14 but returned to coaching three years later.

Kelly Harris, Bordeau’s top assistant the past two years, has been hired as an interim replacement for this season. Harris has eight years of past coaching experience beginning at Marist before joining the Big Green.

LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALLCVN opens New England tourney

BRISTOL, Conn. — Connecticut Valley North played Rhode Island in Monday’s late game of the New England Regional Little league tournament in Bristol.

The tourney winner advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Connecticut Valley North, the Vermont state champion, opened play on Sunday night with a 6-3 win over Connecticut-Madison. Ryan Walker and Kason Blood each had a pair of singles in four at-bats to lead the seven-hit victors.
