NEWBURY, N.H. — Nineteen Upper Valley-based artists will be exhibiting their work at the upcoming League of N.H. Craftsmen’s Fair which begins on Saturday, Aug. 3, and is open daily from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. through Sunday, Aug. 11, at Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury.

“We are lucky to have so many tremendous craftsmen from the Upper Valley region participating in this year’s Fair — right in their own backyard,” Miriam Carter, executive director, League of NH Craftsmen, said in a written statement.

The Upper Valley contingent joins more than 300 artists from New Hampshire and other New England states at the festival’s 86th annual event.

Admission costs $15 for adults; children 12 and under are free. There are discounts available for senior citizens, veterans, active-duty military personnel and large groups.

For more information and tickets, visit nhcrafts.org.

In addition to viewing work by the craftsmen, attendees can also attend workshops, view exhibitions, listen to live music and purchase food. “Art, Craft & Design: The Exhibition,” “is a visual way for attendees to explore ideas for using crafts in everyday life,” according to a news release from the nonprofit organization. Another exhibit, called “Sculpture Garden,” demonstrates how to use pieces created by artists in their gardens.

“This year it’s all about the new — exhibitions, workshops, bands and good, as well as inspiring crafts,” Carter said in a news release. “This is more than a shopping experience, it’s an opportunity to explore the world of fine craft making.”
