NEWBURY, N.H. — The fecal bacteria warning for Sunapee State Park Beach that was issued earlier this month remains in effect after a latest round of testing by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services.
The warning was first posted on July 10 and subsequent samplings on July 18, 19, 22, 24 and 25 showed the water continued to exceed state standards. Another sampling is scheduled for Saturday, according to the DES website.
People can find the results at www4.des.state.nh.us/WaterShed_BeachMaps.
There are nine freshwater beaches on the list including Canaan Street Lake town beach, which will be retested on Sunday.
