WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A developer who had proposed locating a hemp processing facility and retail store in a warehouse behind Vermont Salvage on Gates Street has rescinded an application the Hartford Zoning Board was scheduled to consider last week.
Convert, the company, along with developer Mike Davidson’s Execusuite and the current property owner Jesse LaBombard, who owns Vermont Salvage, had applied to the Zoning Board for a conditional use permit for the property, which is required for a manufacturing use in the central business district.
“We are considering different possibilities for the space; we anticipate an announcement in the near future,” Tim Sidore, Execusuite’s managing agent, said in an email Tuesday. “Redevelopment is most definitely a marathon, not a sprint!”
Sidore emailed Hartford Zoning Administrator Jo-Ann Ells to rescind the application on July 9. He offered no explanation for the move in the email, Ells said.
As a result of the application being withdrawn, a Planning Commission hearing on the application set for this week also was canceled.
Convert owner Elisa Tarlow, who is based in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, said she is still looking for a location for her business.
Though she has yet to finalize any agreement, on Tuesday she said, “I’m very likely to be in the Upper Valley.”
