ROYALTON, VT — Christine M. Hudson, 51 died at her home Friday morning, June 21, 2019 following a battle with cancer.

She was born on March 8, 1968 in Boston, MA the daughter of William “Bill” and Charlotte (Walsh) Barry. She attended school in Newton, MA and graduated in 1986 from Newton High School. Following high school, she and her family moved to Tunbridge, VT when her parents purchased the Village Store.

On July 29, 2000 she married Ross Hudson of Royalton, VT. She and Ross made their home on the Back River Road in Royalton where they raised their five daughters.

For many years she worked as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH before retiring for health reasons. Christine was kind, caring and compassionate. She had a huge heart and was willing to help anyone, anywhere at any time.

She was a loving daughter, sibling, wife, mother, in-law and friend to all who knew her. Christine was extremely active in the community. She served on the school board for 10 years because she cared about the well-being of the students and parents of South Royalton.

Her family were her life. She was always supportive in everything that Ross and her daughters were doing, especially sporting events.

She is survived by her parents, Bill and Charlotte Barry of Quechee, VT; her husband, Ross Hudson and five daughters, Hayley, Emma, Iris, Lilly and Skyley all of Royalton, VT; three brothers, Matt Barry of Quechee, VT, Jeff Barry and his wife, Bridget of South Royalton, VT and Joe Barry and his wife, Margaret of Sayre, PA; two sisters, Michelle Barnaby and Jennifer Wright and her husband, Steve all of Fort Worth, Texas; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ellen and Peter Chap; sisters-in-law, Laurie Hudson, Nell Gwin, Pheobe Roda and Dorothy Chap; brothers-in-law, Jim Hudson and Wilder Chap and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. on The Green in South Royalton, VT with Rev. Marty Bascom officiating. Please bring your lawn chairs for seating. Immediately following the service there will be a time of fellowship, refreshments and storytelling at the Royalton Academy Building in Royalton, VT.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northfield Savings Bank Scholarship Fund to be set up for a deserving senior at the White River Valley High School, 223 South Windsor Street, South Royalton, VT 05068.
