RANCHO CORDOVA, CA — We mourn the passing of our mother, Oma Juanice “Mickie” Rosenstein, who has passed on May 26 following a long illness. Mickie was a longtime resident of Norwich Vermont and quite active in local life. She served as a Norwich troop leader for Girl’s Scouts of America, before serving three years as the Den Mother for Pack 253 of the Cub Scouts of America. Mickie was also active in the Omega Phi Beta Sorority for Women’s Upper Valley Chapter where she made many of her closest friends. While Mickie was a member of the Upper Valley Bible Baptist Church, she as also a fixture for the family and community events of the Upper Valley Jewish Community with her family. In keeping with her civic mindedness, Mickie was a long-time employee of Dartmouth College, where she was the managing administrator for the Dartmouth Partners in Community Service (DPCS) managing undergraduates working throughout the Upper Valley in a variety of internships and programs including Big Brother/Big Sister.
Mickie was born in Loco Oklahoma, the last of 8 siblings and is survived by her twin Sissy. She was married to Dr. Robert Rosenstein of New York City for 48 years until his passing in 2013. Mickie was a kind and loving soul who welcomed all into her life and home. She would readily lend an ear, give a hug or offer her help to any who asked. We live to honor her example.
Mickie is survived by her sons Allan and Darrell in Washington, her daughter Lori in California who had lovingly and patiently attended her for many years, and her twin Sissy also in Washington.
