NORWICH — King Arthur Flour on Thursday announced a voluntary recall of a limited quantity of five-pound bags of unbleached, all-purpose flour sold through retailers and distributors nationwide due to the possible presence of E. coli.
The recall applies to 14,218 cases from six specific lot codes and three “Best Used By” dates. It does not apply to products sold through the Norwich-based company’s website, catalog, the Baker’s Store in Norwich or the Baking School in Burlington, Wash.
The dates and codes are “best used by 12/07/19” Lot L18A07C; 12/08/19 Lots L18A08A and L18A08B; and 12/14/19 Lots L18A14A, L18A14B and L18A14C.
No illnesses have yet been reported in connection with King Arthur Flour.
The company announced the recall because ADM Milling Co., which processes flour for King Arthur, said that “certain wheat used to make these lots of King Arthur flour has been linked to an ongoing outbreak of E. coli infections,” according to the release.
People who have purchased the affected products should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for credit or refund, the company said.
