CHELSEA — A 44-year-old Randolph man has been cited into court on a criminal threatening charge after he allegedly made threatening statements while inside the Law Offices of Sedon & Ericson in Chelsea.

Edwin Huntley allegedly threatened attorney Michael Shane, 39, of Chelsea, on Wednesday, as well as the Chelsea courthouse and the Orange County State’s Attorney, according to a Vermont State Police news release.

Some of his alleged threats included that he “would twist off his neck and kill him,” “burn this place down” and beat up the state’s attorney, the release states.

Vermont State Police Cpl. Mark Harvey said Huntley was at the law office on Highland Avenue around 9:30 a.m. speaking with Shane about another case when the alleged incident occurred.

Huntley has an arraignment scheduled for May 22 at Orange Superior Court in Chelsea.

Police issued him a no-trespass order for the law office.
