SOUTH ROYALTON — Two family foundations in the Twin States have donated $180,000 to support veterans services provided by Vermont Law School’s South Royalton Legal Clinic.

The Hoehl Family Foundation, based in Vermont, is donating $120,000 over three years to the veterans legal assistance project at the legal clinic, while the Hanover-based Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation is donating $60,000 over two years, according to a Vermont Law School news release on Monday.

While both foundations have donated to the clinic in the past, the release said, “this increased level of support assures the continued delivery of free legal assistance to veterans for the foreseeable future.”

The Vermont Bar Foundation also is helping steer donations to the legal clinic, where the funds support a full-time staff attorney who works with veterans and other needy Vermonters and also trains and supervises law students in their legal advocacy work.
