NORWICH, VT — Lyle G. Favreau, 74, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, VT, after a brief illness.

Lyle was born on Sept. 8, 1944 in Southbridge, MA, to Mary (Stafford) and George Favreau, and grew up in Charlton, MA, graduating from Charlton High School in 1962.

He worked as a contractor, and later on in real estate where he met his wife, Pat. He was a commercial driver for several transport companies, recently retiring from Crete Carrier Corporation.

Lyle was a Vietnam era veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was a 1st Lieutenant when he was honorably discharged. He was a dedicated member of Lyman F. Pell American Legion Post 8 in Norwich, VT, where he was completing his 3rd term as Post Commander.

He was predeceased by parents Mary and George Favreau, a daughter, Lynn Favreau, and a brother, Ronald Favreau.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patricia Greene of Norwich, VT; a son, Michael Favreau, and wife Tammy of Braselton, GA; a daughter, Elizabeth Paradis, and husband Scott of Charlton, MA; stepdaughters Catherine Sartor and husband Chris of Quechee, VT, and Tracy Hinck and husband Ken of Norwich, VT; a brother, Dale Favreau and wife Lucette of Sturbridge, MA; former wife Constance (Szymczak) Favreau of Dudley, MA; twelve beloved grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service in West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton, MA, at a later date. A service of remembrance with military honors will be held in late spring.
