WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — a wholesome night of fun will hit White River Junction on Friday when Hartford Parks and Recreation hosts a father-daughter Valentine’s Dance.

The dance, which takes place from 6-8 p.m. at The Dothan Brook School at 2300 Christian St. in White River Junction, is meant for girls from toddlers through high schoolers along with their fathers, grandfathers, uncles or other male figures in their lives.

“Whoever wants to bring them along, we welcome them all to join,” said Jay McDonough, superintendent of recreation programs in Hartford.

McDonough said that the dance is a lot of fun for the girls, who all get a flower when they arrive. There is a DJ, as well as a photo booth with props, where attendees are welcome to take as many pictures as they like. With finger foods and fun snacks, there’s a good time to be had at the event, which normally draws about 50 couples.

“It’s a fun event to bring your sweetheart to and have a fun time dancing,” McDonough said.

The dance costs $18 per couple, and $10 for each additional child. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at hartfordrec.com, or at the door the night of the event. For more information, visit the website or call 802-295-5036.
