HANOVER, NH — June Morgan of Hanover died January 2, 2019 at Kendal following a short illness.
Born in Manchester, England, June emigrated to Montreal with her first husband, Nat Bowman, and their two young children, Gillian and David, in the early 1950’s. Nat died in 1967 and, several years later, June married Rod Morgan and, together, they moved to Etna in the early 1970’s when Rod was appointed Vice President, Administration, at Dartmouth College during John Kemeny’s tenure.
She worked part-time for ten years coordinating a program for high-risk infants at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. She helped start and then worked for fifteen years with Outreach House, a small assisted-living home in Hanover. She served as President for eight years. She also volunteered for five years on the panel of a Court Diversion program In Lebanon and White River Junction.
After Rodney died in 1993 June decided to leave their home in Etna and build a house closer to Hanover where she lived for many years before moving to Kendal in 2011.
She is survived by her children, Gillian and David, both residents of Montreal and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Carolyn as well as by her stepson, Rod and his wife Pam, both of Colorado, their children, Elizabeth and Tim, and her brother Sefton of Manchester.
June’s remains will be buried in Montreal close to her immediate family.
