BELLOWS FALLS, VT — Cheryl A. Callahan, 73, former long time resident of White River Junction, VT, died Monday, January 21, 2019 at Springfield Health & Rehab in Springfield, VT.
Cheryl was born November 20, 1945 in Carthage, NY a daughter of Mary L. Champion. She grew up in Syracuse and attended Blodgett Vocational High School. She worked at the Syracuse Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Human Resources and Payroll Departments. In 1964 she married Richard R. Mayer and they made there home in Syracuse. She worked as a maid, a waitress, bartender, a daycare provider and teacher. Richard died in 1992.
Cheryl enjoyed crossword puzzles, crochet, knitting reading, sewing and decorating, but her greatest joy was spending time with family.
She is survived by a son Mark Mayer of Syracuse, two daughters Loraine Mayer and Lisa Cruso and a sister Linda Holmstrom all of Syracuse, NY
