BETHEL, VT — William “Bill” P. Tabor, 74, died peacefully surrounded by family Friday morning, January 18, 2019 at Gifford Medical Center.
Bill was born May 18, 1944; the son of Luther and Irene (Rogers) Tabor in Randolph. He was born and raised in Randolph and attended Randolph schools. He was married to Patricia Lewis and later divorced. Bill served in the Army National Guard. Bill was a skilled auto body specialist. He worked for Valley Motors and various shops in the region, including Al Miller’s body Shop. In 1982 Bill married Donna (Cassidy) Ciechanowicz. Together they have made their home in Bethel. He was a member of the American Legion. One of Bill’s biggest passions was camping. Bill and Donna traveled across country seeing family and working as “work campers.” They spent two summers at Grand Isle State Park and part of a winter in Tombstone, AZ working at a KOA. Bill enjoyed being a “cowboy” in Tombstone and Assistant Ranger at Grand Isle. The other passion was fishing with his longtime friend Mel Pierce.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughters, Sandra and husband Mike Farrell, Sherrie and husband Robin Weyant; Son, Steve and wife Lynn Tabor; Step-son, Tim and Wife Tracy Ciechanowicz; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; Brothers; Douglas Tabor of Tucson, AZ and David Tabor of Randolph and Green Valley, AZ; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Luther Tabor, Jr.
