WHITE RIVER JCT., VT — Elizabeth Anne Gagne 83 died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Genesis Lebanon Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born May 13, 1935 in Royalton, VT, the daughter of Marvin and Gwendolyn (Spaulding) Smith. She attended school in South Royalton, graduating in 1953 from South Royalton High School.
On February 14, 1953 she married Norman A. Gagne and for 17 years lived in Royalton village. They also lived on Johnson Hill Road in Royalton for 11 years and for 15 years lived in Barnard, VT.
Elizabeth and Norman enjoyed making and selling Christmas wreaths and birch crafted reindeer. They established North End Video, which they ran together, until Norman’s death August 23, 1991. Elizabeth continued running the business until retiring in 1996 due to ill health. Upon retirement she moved to White River Jct., VT where she has lived since.
She enjoyed raising her three sons, spending time with her grandchildren, making crafts and taking care of her pet cats.
She is survived by her three sons, Gary A. Gagne and Stuart A. Gagne both of White River Jct., VT and Norman B. Gagne of Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Natalie, Rachel, Greg and Mathew; six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 6-8:00 p.m. at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home, 300 VT RT 110 in Chelsea, VT. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Private burial will be held this spring at the Branch View Cemetery in South Royalton, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Valley Humane Society, 300 Old Route 10, Enfield, NH 03748.
