SHARON, VT — Lorita M. “Rita” Murray, 88, died peacefully, Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

She was born July 8, 1930 in Campton, NH, the daughter of Frank Dustin, Sr. and Dorothy (Kimball) Dustin. She attended the Maytheson School in Barre, VT.

On April 14, 1950 she married Richard Murray. They lived most of their married life in Sharon, where they raised their family. Following Richard’s death July 17, 1998 she moved to White River Junction, where she lived for many years.

Rita had worked at the New Moon Diner in Barre, VT, Hartford Woolen Mill and helped her husband at the Hartford Shell Station. For over 23 years she worked at Waterbury Plastics in Randolph, VT before retiring in 1995.

She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, making afghans, taking care of her grandchildren and other children.

She is survived by a son Richard Murray, Jr. and his wife Eileen Fiori of Enfield, NH, a daughter Kim Champney and her husband Larry of South Royalton, VT, three grandchildren, Danielle Shattuck and her husband Jeremy of Essex Jct., VT, Beau Champney and his wife Danielle Scipione of Wall, NJ, Elizabeth Murray and her husband Chris Ross of Enfield, NH, five great grandchildren, Jenna Emerson, Jake Shattuck, Hayden Shattuck, Hunter Shattuck, Theo Champney, a great great grandson, Gunner Emerson, a brother Lewis Dustin of Northfield, VT, two sisters Viola Simomeau of Gilford, NH and Mary Morse of Connecticut and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard, three brothers John Comeau, Frank Dustin Jr. and Francis Dustin and a sister, Vera Dustin.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 6-8pm at the Boardway and Cilley Funeral Home, 300 VT RTE 110, Chelsea, VT. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2pm at the Sharon Congregational Church with Rev. Mark Pitton officiating. A private burial will be later this spring in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon, VT.
