Otepaa, Estonia — West Fairlee’s Tara Geraghty-Moats made it five wins in five starts on the women’s FIS Continental Cup Nordic combined circuit by earning her second event win in the Baltics in as many days on Sunday.

The 25-year-old’s cross country skiing skills once again set her above her peers. After a fifth-place ski jump result left her starting the ski portion more than a minute behind Austrian leader Lisa Hirner, Geraghty-Moats ripped through the 5K course in 13 minutes, 10.9 seconds to overtake the field and win the event.

Only one skier was within a minute of Geraghty-Moats time, and Hirner was nearly 1½ minutes behind. Geraghty-Moats ultimately won the competition by 23.5 seconds over Hirner, with Japan’s Ayane Miyazaki 25.9 seconds back in third place.

Geraghty-Moats owns an 80-point lead on Norway’s Gyda Westvold Hansen as the tour heads to Rena, Norway, for two competitions next month.
