RIVERVIEW, FL — Diana Douglas Lufkin, 71, of Riverview, Florida died after a long term illness on November 25th at the Tampa Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tampa, Florida with family at her side.

Diana (Dee Dee) was born May 7th, 1947 in California and is the daughter of Anne W. Dudley of Naples, Florida (deceased) and Robert B. Strong of Peabody, Massachusetts (deceased) and step daughter of Bernard F. Dudley of Naples, Florida (deceased). She graduated from Garland Junior College, Boston, Massachusetts, and was married to George E. Lufkin (deceased). She is survived by her brother Michael Dudley of Brownsville, Vermont, step brother Theodore Dudley of Naples, Florida, her daughter Holly Lozano, son Christian Lufkin, step children Michael Lufkin, Kate Briley, Timothy Lufkin and recently deceased Stacy Lufkin, and 12 grandchildren.

Dee Dee was a vibrant and take-charge woman, who after graduating from the Woodstock Country School in Vermont, was a camp counselor at her parent’s summer camp Interlaken for Girls in Sharon, Vermont as well as an educator before marrying her husband George in 1973. She was a devoted mother to her children and a supportive care giver to her mother. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her everyday goal to make someone laugh. She will be missed dearly but our memories of her Christian pursuit of the well-being of others will continue to sustain us.

A small family memorial service will be held in Vermont this summer.
