WINDSOR, VT — Donald Stephen Titus, Windsor, VT, 72, passed peacefully December 30, 2018 surrounded by family at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital.
Steve (or Dyd as most know him) was born on November 17, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to Donald H. Titus and Clarice (Holcomb) Titus. In 1954 the family moved to Stowe, VT and later Reading, VT where he attended school through the eighth grade at the Stone Schoolhouse in South Reading.
After returning from the Air Force boot camp he worked on the Lexington Farm in Reading and in 1967 he married the love of his life of 51 years, Patricia Ann Hill. He also worked with Larry Moore and drove school bus for the Weathersfield School District. They raised their three children, Nathan, Jason and Darcy in his family home on Niagara Street where he owned and operated a mechanic shop in the garage. He also worked for the town of Reading and drove truck for St. Johnsbury trucking. He was an active member of the American Legion and the Windsor Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and playing cards but most of all he loved his family.
He is predeceased by his mother, father and grandson Stephen. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, son, Nathan and his girlfriend, Yami, son, Jason and his wife Christina; daughter, Darcy and her husband, Matt; nephew(son), Donavon; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Randy, sisters, Lynn and Kimberly and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Windsor Elks Lodge on Main Street in Windsor, VT at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Ascutney Hospital in his name.
