Decocq finished with five points, putting the finishing touches on a Mascoma comeback after a three-point first quarter and a seven-point deficit at halftime. A Mascoma inbounds pass with nine seconds left in the fourth quarter, and the score tied 36-36, ended with a foul on Decocq for the game-deciding points. The Royals outscored the Huskies, 18-10, in the third quarter and 6-5 in the final stanza.
“We got on our break a little bit (in the third quarter),” said Mascoma’s 10th-year head coach, Jim Barry. “The fourth quarter was a defensive grind. Everybody tightened up.”
Mascoma sophomore Connor Thompson led Royals with 12 points. Freshman point guard Ben Seiler had eight points in his varsity debut. The Royals (1-0) travel to Hollis Brookline on Tuesday.

Zach Belisle led four players in double figures for Sunapee with 15 points. Jordan Chappell added 14 points, Brady Grzanna had 13 and Kevin Nolan had 12 points.
The Lakers will visit crosstown rival Mount Royal on Tuesday.

Mount Royal (0-1) trailed, 12-2, in the early going before going on an 11-0 run to lead, 13-12. The Knights then trailed by 10 heading into the fourth quarter before rallying to tie the score at 48-48. Colebrook then drained a pair of free throws in the final minute and held on for the win. The Mohawks held an edge from the charity stripe, making 17 of 24 from the line while Mount Royal went just 11-for-24.
Andrew Normandin made four 3-pointers and had 18 points for the Knights. Louis Larosiliere added 15 points, and Philip Dahlberg had eight. Mount Royal hosts Sunapee on Tuesday.

Maddie McCorkle led the attack with 19 points. Diana Schwarz added 13 points, and Bella Bardales had 11 points. Anna Kirkpatrick chipped in 10 points, and Lois Schwarz had seven. Hanover built a 34-7 lead at halftime and cruised from there.
“It was a total team effort. We had great ball movement and a lot of unselfish play,” Hanover coach Dan O’Rourke said.
The Marauders (1-0) visit rival Lebanon on Tuesday.

Woodsville led, 21-3, at halftime before surrendering 12 points in the first two minutes of the third quarter to let the Cougars get back within striking distance. Balance was restored for the duration of the game as the Engineers pulled away for the win.
“We played perfect D for 24 minutes, and we’ll take that,” Woodsville coach Russ Wilcox said.
Olivia Sarkis had 18 points, including 10 from the free-throw line, to lead the Engineers. Morgan Wagstaff and Emily Prest each added 11 points. Woodsville hosts Lisbon on Monday.

Colebrook had 15 offensive rebounds, made 17 free throws in the victory and outscored Mount Royal, 6-1, in overtime.
“They had a lot of second-chance points,” Mount Royal head coach Derek Tremblay said.
Sophie LaRose added six points for the Knights, who host neighbor Sunapee on Tuesday.

“In my opinion, they’re the best team in Division III,” said Mascoma’s second year head coach Walter Hammond. “They’re a veteran quad, probably have about five seniors. They’re solid.”
Monadnock led, 30-5, at halftime. Mascoma (1-2) travels to White Mountains on Friday.

KUA took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission on goals from Tomas Mazura, Alro Merritt and Brian Carrabes. Zach Taylor added a power play goal in the second period, and Drew Bennett finished things off in the third to complete the scoring. The Wildcats host Tilton today at 4 p.m.

Abby Flanagan, Kyra Rusman and Ashley Penney all scored for KUA. Molly Davis, Lexi Bartlett, Katarina Maniatis and Molly Flanagan had assists. Goaltender Seana Perkins made 13 saves.

Dartmouth Men, Women Top Bates

Dartmouth’s women won all but one of the 12 events, taking the top two spots in eight of them in a 166-52 team victory. Wortzman won the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.23), out-touching Maya Reynoso-Williams by a half-second. Ashley Post won the 100 freestyle. The Big Green’s Melanya Zaraska and Alie Hunter took first and second in the 200 fly.
Dartmouth’s men won all but two events throughout the meet, taking the top two spots in six of them in a 143-79 decision. LaMastra won the 200-yard IM (1:54.65) and helped the 400 relay team take first place, and Ray Neistat placed first in the 1-meter diving board.
The Big Green returns to competition on Jan. 4 against Penn and Yale.
