HANOVER, NH — Ann Frances (Monroe) Barr, formerly of Swansea, MA, passed away at her Hanover, NH home on November 23, 2018. She was born on September 5, 1938, the oldest daughter of Andrew W. Monroe and Dora (Lapham) Monroe of Seekonk, MA.

Ann graduated from East Providence High School and in later years went on to receive her Medical Assistant Certification from Diman Regional Technical Institute. While living in Swansea, she was a longtime member of both the Junior League and the Coles River Yacht Club. She was an avid reader, known for her charitable contributions as well as her love of animals.

Ann is predeceased by her husband, Donald William Barr in 2010, her son, Jonathan A. Barr in 1995 and her sister Linda L. Balfour in 2006. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn M. Southam (Jack R. Southam) of Taunton, MA, her daughters, Jennifer B. Kenyon of Swansea, MA and Elizabeth M. Barr (Marvin E, Ramirez) of West Greenwich, RI, her grandchildren, Jake R. Kenyon, Mitchell B. Kenyon and Samuel J. Ramirez Barr, as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be a private internment ceremony held at a later date.
