Lake Buena Vista, Fla. — Collin Gillespie had 17 points, including two key late free throws, and Villanova won the AdvoCare Invitational on Sunday by beating No. 14 Florida State, 66-60.

Gillespie made it 64-60 by connecting on a pair of free throws with 11.2 seconds left in what was a tight second half.

Eric Paschall had 15 points and Phil Booth chipped in 12 for the defending national champions (5-2).

Florida State (5-1) got 11 points from both Mfiondu Kabengele and Trent Forrest.

Oklahoma State 90, No. 19 LSU 77

Lake Buena Vista, Fla.— Cameron McGriff had 28 points, Lindy Waters added 16, and Oklahoma State defeated LSU.

The Cowboys were 6-6 against ranked teams last season. Skylar Mays scored 20 points for the Tigers (5-2), who were coming off a 79-76 overtime loss to No. 14 Florida State on Friday.

Bucknell 69, Vermont 61

Burlington — Nate Sestina scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Kimbal Mackenzie added 13 points, including a go-ahead jumper, and Bucknell (2-2) rallied from 13 down to beat Vermont (3-3).

Trailing 32-20 at halftime, Bucknell scored 10 straight and closed to 38-36 on Paul Newman’s layup, then led 45-44 on Mackenzie’s jumper with 9:08 left to play. Vermont’s Ernie Duncan hit a 3 to tie it at 51, but Bruce Moore sank a 3, Mackenzie made a layup and Bucknell led 56-51 with 3:49 to go. The Catamounts got no closer than three from there.

Women

No. 8 Stanford 81, Hawaii 59

Honolulu — Alanna Smith scored a season-high 30 points before Stanford’s game against Hawaii was called with 48.2 seconds left when Cardinal guard Anna Wilson got hurt in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown.

The junior guard, who is the sister of NFL star Russell Wilson, fell backward and hit a chair while playing defense, according to Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer. Wilson remained down on the court for about 20 minutes after getting hurt while medical personnel attended to her. They stabilized her neck before she was taken to a hospital.

No. 10 Texas 72, Fordham 54

Estero, Fla.— Sug Sutton scored 17 points, Jatarie White added 16 and No. 10 Texas clamped down defensively late to beat Fordham in the championship game of the Gulf Coast Showcase.

No. 21 Missouri 62, Duke 54

Estero, Fla. — Hannah Schuchts made every shot she took except a free throw in the final seconds, setting career highs with six 3-pointers and 25 points, to lead No. 21 Missouri over Duke for fifth place in the Gulf Coast Showcase.

No. 24 Miami 73, Temple 61

Coral Gables, Fla. — Beatrice Mompremier scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for her fifth double-double this season and Miami defeated Temple.

Kelsey Marshall went 4 of 6 from the arc and added 17 points and Emese Hof had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Hurricanes (6-1).
