Hartford — No one was injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Friday on Interstate 91 in Hartford that involved a Vermont State Police trooper.

Trooper Joseph Pregent, 47, of Royalton, was traveling southbound on the I-91 in the junction when he saw a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane toward him.

Pregent turned on his blue lights and attempted to turn around to stop the vehicle, being driving by Alfred Roncarati, 78, of Cohasset, Mass., when the collision occurred.

While turning around, Pregent and the drivers of three other vehicles collided. They included Janet Hinzman, 69, of Williamstown, Vt.; Bruce Earle, 45, of Pomfret; and Pierre Canton, 26, of Quebec, who was operating a tractor-trailer unit.

The crash remains under investigation.
