U.S. Democratic Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, along with Democratic Congresswoman Annie Kuster, announced on Friday that the Department of Energy will award Dartmouth College a $400,000 grant to fund a solar research project.
The project has the goal of advancing solar technologies “to lower electricity costs and create jobs in the solar economy,” the lawmakers said in a joint news release. Dr. Jifeng Liu is the principal investigator of the project.
” … Dr. Liu’s lab has developed a brand new technology with unprecedented characteristics. This award will help to bring that technology closer to commercial deployment, creating high-value jobs, fueling innovation and helping to provide clean power for the future,” the release said.
