Chelsea, Vt. —
He was born Aug. 1, 1960, in Barre City, Vt., the son of Carlyle “Skip” Ferno and Patricia (Eastman) Wood. He attended school in Washington, Vt. and later Chelsea, Vt. where he graduated from Chelsea High School in 1978.
On May 9, 1981, he married Donna Metcalf of Chelsea. They lived most of their married life in Chelsea.
Earl had worked at Giroux Trucking, over 10 years at Granite Importers and the last four years at Hillside Stone all in Barre, Vt. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and enjoyed fixing things.
He was a member of the Chelsea Fish & Game Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, mowing hay, spending time with his family, his greatest love was fishing and spending time with his grandson Cooper.
He is survived by his wife Donna Ferno of Chelsea; his father Carlyle “Skip” Ferno of Sun City, Ariz.; his mother Patricia Wood of Washington, Vt.; two daughters Nikol Ferno of Tunbridge, Vt. and Jaymi Ferno of Brattleboro, Vt.; a grandson Copper Maraget; a sister Patricia Verdon of Washington; a brother Wayne Ferno of Washington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held, Monday Oct. 8, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Boardway and Cilley Funeral Home, 300 VT RT 110, Chelsea. A graveside funeral service will be held, Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Chelsea.
