Woodbridge, Va. —
Following her graduation from UMass-Amherst, she joined the U.S. Navy in 1970, transferring to the Marine Corps a year later. After retiring from active duty, she joined the reserves.
Predeceased by her parents, Profs. Charles Nelson DuBois (of Newbury, Vt.) and Marron Shaw DuBois (of Kenmore, N.Y.), both residents of Amherst, Mass.; and sisters, Charlotte Elfe of Columbia, S.C. and Jacqueline Gentl of Salem, Mass.; she is survived by her sister, Valerie Jhaveri of Seattle, Wash.
Lorraine will be buried with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia on Oct. 2, 2018, at 9 a.m. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home in Woodbridge.
