Flu season is on the horizon and it’s time to be proactive by getting a flu shot. Luckily, the Upper Valley has flu vaccine clinics that are hosted by nonprofit organizations, free and open to the public.

Sept. 27: 4-7 p.m., Plainfield Elementary School, 92 Bonner Road, Meriden. Vaccines are available to everyone age 10 and over, regardless of where they live. Both regular and high-dose vaccine are offered, as appropriate. The clinic is sponsored by the Public Health Council, Plainfield Caring Neighbors, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. No registration required. Sept. 29: 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, Lebanon. Park in the main entrance parking lot and go to the information desk. There will be signs and volunteers to direct you. Adults and children 9 and older who are not afraid of needles will be immunized in the Auditoria.
