Boston (ap) — AJ Dillon ran for 149 yards and three touchdowns in less than a quarter, and Boston College beat old in-state rival Holy Cross, 62-14, Saturday in the schools’ first meeting in 32 years.

Dillon, the Atlantic Coast Conference’s preseason player of the year, carried just six times before BC (2-0) went to its reserves late in the first quarter. Quarterback Anthony Brown completed his only two passes for 53 yards.

Eagles reserve QBs EJ Perry and Matt McDonald each threw for two TDs and cornerback Hamp Cheevers returned an interception 81 yards for a score.

Holy Cross (0-2) blocked two punts for TDs.

Colgate 10, UNH 3

Durham, n.h. — Grant Breneman’s 1-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter proved to be all of the offense the Raiders (2-0) would need to topple the Wildcats (0-2).

Colgate’s Chris Puzzi traded field goals with New Hampshire’s Jason Hughes before halftime, but the visitors’ defense was too much for UNH to solve. The Wildcats have scored just 10 points in their first two contests. James Holland rushed 18 times for 105 yards for Colgate.

Castleton 34
Fitchburg St. 13

Fitchburg, Mass. — The Spartans (1-1) picked up touchdowns from five different players to grab their first win of the season.

Mitchell Caron converted a 1-yard run and Matthew Hesford snared a 65-yard pass from Caron for a 12-6 lead after one quarter. After Fitchburg (0-2) took the lead, Castleton answered with a 4-yard Moe Harris TD run, and the visitors led the rest of the way.

St. Lawrence 40, Norwich 7

Canton, n.y. — The Saints (1-1) scored the game’s first three touchdowns and never looked back in routing the Cadets (0-2).

Tyler Grochot went 30-of-48 for 446 yards with four TDs and two interceptions for St. Lawrence. By contrast, Norwich quarterbacks Matt Dunne and Matthew Chaffee combined to go 13-of-30 passing for just 123 yards and three picks.

URI 45, Albany (NY) 26

Kingston, r.i. (ap) — JaJuan Lawson threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns, and Rhode Island beat Albany for its first 2-0 start since 2005.

It’s also Rhode Island’s first 2-0 start in Colonial Athletic Association play since 2001.

Lawson completed 22 of 28 passes, including touchdowns to Marven Beauvis, Isaiah Coulter, Aaron Parker and Tyler Burke. Parker caught nine passes for 146 yards and Coulter grabbed nine for 109 yards. Zoe Bryant Jr. scored on a 1-yard run after Brandon Ginnett recovered and returned a fumble 30 yards.
