East Corinth, Vt. —
Born on Sept. 14, 1935, in East Corinth, she was the daughter of Leon and Florence (Martin) Brainerd.
On July 26, 1954, she married Kenneth “Buzzy” Thompson.
After high school, she worked at the Veneer Mill in Bradford, Vt. as a secretary. She then became the Hot Lunch Agent for the Cookeville and East Corinth Schools.
In 1972, Louise became the Secretary at the Waits River School in East Corinth. A job she truly loved. She retired in 2002 after 30 years of service.
Besides her parents, Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Kenneth (June 13, 2018); a granddaughter Jennifer Russo; two brothers, Charles Brainerd & Harry Brainerd; one sister, Eleanor Martin; two brothers-in-law, Willard Martin and Robert Ladd; and one sister-in-law, Muriel Brainerd.
Louise is survived by her children: Kyle Thompson and his wife, Teresa of East Corinth, Carla Russo and her husband, Stephen of Brunswick, Vt., Brian Thompson and his companion, Julie Gadapee of East Corinth, and Julie Ellsworth and her husband, Steven of Corinth; her grandchildren: Jeremy (Erica) Thompson, Michael (Lisa) Thompson, Timothy Russo, Stephen (Christina) Russo, Christle Gadapee, Alexander Thompson, Cody Thompson, Jesse (Teiha) Ellsworth, Matthew (Kara) Ellsworth, Nathan (Joy) Ellsworth; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Clements of Newbury, Vt.; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Ladd of Wooster, Ohio and Joan Brainerd of East Corinth; a brother-in-law, Norman Thompson of Colchester, Vt.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
At Louise’s request, there will be no calling hours or service.
