Piermont, N.H. — Harold V. “Johnny” Jones, Jr. 84, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in Lebanon, N.H.

Born June 25, 1934 in Bessemer, Ala. to Kathleen (Vance ) and H. Vernon Jones, Sr.

He grew up in Powell’s Crossroads, Tenn., and graduated from Whitwell High School, 1952, Whitwell, Tenn.

He served in the U.S. Army 1959-1961, H/H Co 1st MTB 1st Cavalry, Fort Hood, Texas.

For many years, he was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Union Local 43 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

In 1965, he married J. Carolyn Champion in 1965.

He leaves two sons: H. Vernon Jones, III (Piermont) and Daniel E. Jones (Goodlettsville, Tenn.).

A “Tennessee boy” at heart, who lived mainly in Hamilton and Marion counties, spent several years working in Calif. and the last eight years in Piermont living with son Vernon and family; wife Jayne and kids (Drew, Meaghan, Brenda, Daniel, Renee and Lara). Survived by son Daniel and daughter-in-law Marsha Jones and a sister, Jan Wilson.

He enjoyed working hard, farming, baking, being outdoors, observing God’s creation, classic cars and music.

He was generous and loved sharing gifts with his many friends. He trusted in the Lord Jesus and looked forward to the day the Lord would come and take him home (July 17, 2018).

There will be a celebration of life service at the Bradford Evangelical Free Church, Bradford, Vt. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation hours are planned for Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at the Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home (Whitwell, Tenn.), with burial at the nearby Teague Cemetery to follow. Times to be published locally.
