New Director Announced at Horse Meadow Senior Center

North Haverhill — Grafton County Senior Citizens Council Inc. has announced that Jessica Aiken-Hall is the new director of Horse Meadow Senior Center in North Haverhill.

Aiken-Hall has several years’ experience working with older adults in a variety of settings in northern Vermont and New Hampshire, including the ServiceLink Resource Center of Grafton County, a program sponsored by the senior citizens council. She holds a master’s degree in counseling and a bachelor’s degree in human services from Springfield College.

“Jessica has worked with older adults for several years as a knowledgeable and highly respected counselor. She has a strong interest in working with older adults and a sensitivity to their concerns,” Grafton County Senior Citizens Council Executive Director Roberta Berner said in an email. “(The council) likes to promote staff from within the organization whenever it works out — and this was a great opportunity for Jessica and for us!”

The last director, Guy Mitchell, was with Horse Meadow for six months — from October through April — before returning to his previous employer in Maine. Berner said that although Mitchell’s departure was a surprise, he left on good terms.

Former Director Deb Foster returned to Horse Meadow while the council conducted the search for the new director.

“We are immensely grateful to Deb for coming back to Horse Meadow for several months, and we thank her for her continuing service to (the council), the Center, and the community as she helps with the transition,” Berner said in a news release.
