Thetford — Police said an Enfield woman is in stable condition after she was struck by a car while bicycling in Thetford today.

Cyclist Fariha Chaudhry, 52, was traveling north on Route 5 in Thetford in the area of All Seasons Drive when she was “struck by (Todd) Robie’s vehicle,” according a Vermont State Police news release.

It was not clear which direction Robie, of Thetford, was driving. The bicycle was totaled and the vehicle, a 1996 Chevy Lumina, incurred damage to the left front fender.

Chaudhry was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and is reported to be in stable condition, police said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
