Manchester — Hanover High’s Christo Dragnev scored two goals and three-time defending champion Monadnock rolled to a 5-0 win over Lakes Region to open Granite State Games boys soccer play at Southern New Hampshire University on Thursday night.

Profile’s Jeb Wennrich, Hanover’s Richie Aman and Lebanon’s Ben Tichner added single tallies in the Monadnock victory.

Monadnock opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Wennrich headed home a curling cross from Lebanon’s Luke Sandmann. A corner kick from Hanover’s Liam Collins was headed in by Dragnev to make it 2-0 at the half.

In the 50th minute, Dragnev finished from Lebanon’s Tyler Saint Martin to make it 3-0. Five minutes later, Aman converted from Dragnev from 12 yards out, and Aman’s goal mouth pass to Tichner for a one-touch tap in capped the scoring in the 67th minute.

Stevens’ Tanner Durkee and Lebanon’s Erick Spaulding split the game in goal, though neither goalkeeper was required to make a save.

Monadnock matches up with Southern for its next Granite State Games contest tonight at 5 p.m. at the Derryfield School.
