Springfield, Vt.
Barbara Comtois, 78, of Bellows Falls, Vt., died from injuries she sustained in the 2 p.m. collision near the Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center on Route 11, Springfield Police Chief Douglas Johnston said on Friday.
Preliminary investigation shows that Comtois was driving eastbound when she crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle driven by Douglas Weber, 60, of Springfield, Vt., Johnston said. Weber suffered serious injuries; he was listed in critical condition at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as of Friday afternoon.
The factors that may have contributed to the crash remain under investigation, the chief said.
The Keene Sentinel reported that Comtois is a retired Bellows Falls teacher.
