Five Mt. Ascutney Nurses Honored During National Nurses Week

Windsor — Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center recognized five nurses during the hospital’s first-ever Nurses Week Awards. 

Richard Warner was named Licensed Nursing Assistant of the Year; Melissa Hall was named Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year; Anel Sirois was named Certified Medical Assistant of the Year; Edita Hartig, RN, received the the Exemplary Professional Practice Award; and Margaret Worth, RN, was given the MAHHC Nursing Excellence Award.

The award recipients were nominated by their peers and chosen by the hospital’s Interdisciplinary Clinical Practice Governance Coordinating Council.

“Each of the nurses recognized today serves their patients with grace, ingenuity and incredible skill,” Deanna Orfanidis, chief nursing officer at Mt. Ascutney, said in a news release. “They’re role models to their colleagues and we couldn’t have asked for a better group of compassionate professionals to inaugurate this new tradition.”
