Claremont — On the recommendation of Superintendent Middleton McGoodwin, the School Board voted unanimously to hire Frank Romeo as the new principal of the middle school.

Romeo has been vice principal at South Royalton School for the last five years but he told the board on Wednesday night his position is being eliminated as a result of consolidation under Act 46.

“The time is right,” Romeo told the board. “I’m looking for a new career and home, not just a job.”

Romeo replaces Paulette Fitzgerald, who has taken a job with the Concord School District, McGoodwin said.
