Above: Marine Corps veteran Bernie Marvin, of Piermont, unveils a new memorial during a ceremony at the Piermont Veterans Memorial Garden on Memorial Day. The new memorial lists 26 names of town residents who served during the Korean, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The garden is located in Piermontโ€™s South Lawn Cemetery. Right: Piermont resident David Wescott, whose name is on the new monument, salutes as the Piermont Villiage School choir sings the national anthem during the ceremony. Wescott served in the Navy in the 1980s and he said he went โ€œhalfway around the world, twice.โ€
