West Hartford, Vt. — Wayne J. Plamondon, 59, died unexpectedly due to natural causes on Wednesday May 23, 2018, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

He was born Nov. 11, 1958, in Lebanon, N.H. a son of Bernard and Florence (Gray) Plamondon. Wayne attended school in Lebanon and has lived throughout the Upper Valley all his life. He started his career as a mechanic at a young age working at several area shops including for Orin Howe, Don Hawthorn and Brother Eastman before opening his own shop in West Fairlee where he was known as the “Car Doctor.” He also worked with Mark Horne in the moving and storage business for several years. Wayne worked for Grizzaffi’s towing and recovery for nearly 20 years and thought of Billy as a son.

Wayne will be remembered most for his great sense of humor and laughter. He had a kind heart, and would help anyone in need no matter how big or small. He went by many nicknames Cwabby, Wayno, Gramps, and Ole Doc just to name a few. He was a jack of all trades and loved tinkering on things to see how they worked. Wayne had always been an avid antique clock lover and collector.  

He was predeceased by his parents Bernard Plamondon and Florence Gunn. He leaves his wife, Laura (Deblois) Plamondon of West Hartford; six daughters, Elizabeth Plamondon (Louis Peters) of East Thetford, Sandra Plamondon (Chad Page) of Bradford, Vt., Randa Griswold of Harrisburg, Pa., Vanessa Sawyer (James Sawyer) of Strafford, Vt., Tiffany Plamondon of Bradford and Josephine Plamondon of Lyme, N.H.; grandchildren  Anikin, Aislin, Sydney, Chloe, Breanna, Brant and Brooke; step-children Danielle and Shane Smith both of Orford, N.H.; three brothers Bernard Plamondon (Clare) of California, Bruce Plamondon (Theresa) of Nebraska and Mark Plamondon (Tammy) of Maine; two sisters Sally Bosworth of Indiana and Laura Plamondon of Nevada; many nieces, nephews; and countless close friends that he considered family.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., Vt. on Sunday, May 27 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Celebration of life will be held at the Elks Club, Lebanon, N.H. to follow.

A Private burial will be held at a later date.
