Pittsburgh — Starling Marte, Josh Bell and Jose Osuna all hit two-run homers, Max Moroff added a three-run blast and Pittsburgh Pirates beat the San Francisco Giants, 11-2, on Friday night in Andrew McCutchen’s return to PNC Park.

McCutchen, a five-time All-Star who played his first nine seasons in Pittsburgh before being traded to the Giants in January, received an extended ovation from the largest crowd to watch a Pirates home game this season when he came to bat in the second inning. The right fielder went 1 for 5 with a double and threw out Pittsburgh’s Colin Moran at home plate to end the sixth.

New York — Khris Davis, Matt Chapman, Jed Lowrie and Matt Joyce all homered and Oakland beat the Yankees, leaving New York with back-to-back losses for the first time in more than a month.

The A’s had lost three in a row before roughing Sonny Gray, their former ace. Oakland has won five straight overall against the Yankees.

Cubs 11, White Sox 2

Chicago — Willson Contreras had two homers, two doubles and drove in a career-high seven runs on his bobblehead day, and the Cubs pounded the crosstown White Sox.

Contreras capped a five-run first against Carson Fulmer with his second career grand slam.

Mets 3, Phillies 1

Philadelphia — Michael Conforto hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning off Phillies closer Hector Neris and New York rallied to beat Philadelphia.

Phillies starter Jake Arrieta allowed five hits over 7⅓ scoreless innings and they led 1-0 until Neris allowed a one-out single, Conforto’s third homer and a homer to Devin Mesoraco on the next pitch.

Royals 10, Indians 9

Cleveland — Andrew Miller, activated from the disabled list before the game, gave up Salvador Perez’s two-run homer in the seventh inning and Kansas City rallied to defeat Cleveland.

Miller, making his first appearance since straining his left hamstring April 25, allowed his first runs of the season and the Royals rallied from a 9-4 deficit.

Nats’ Eaton Moved to 60-Day DL

Phoenix — Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton was transferred to the 60-day disabled list, a day after he had surgery on his left ankle.

The 29-year-old Eaton has been on the disabled list since April 11, and will be out until at least early June.

The move on Friday was made retroactive to April 9, and the Nationals haven’t announced a timetable for his return.

Eaton faces missing extended game action for the second straight season after being out all but 23 games with a torn knee ligament and high ankle sprain in 2017.
