“Grant was absolutely on today,” said Oxbow head coach Shawn French. “He’s gotten progressively better. His last two outings, he’s really coming into it.”
Thetford scored in an error-filled first inning before Hunter Locke tied it up in the bottom of the inning for the O’s, scoring on a ground out. Oxbow’s Jace Page brought home the game-winning run in the fifth inning, driving in freshman Cam Boardman on a base hit. Boardman reached base with a one-out double into the right-center field gap.
Thetford junior starter Aiden Nichols allowed four hits and no walks over six innings, striking out four Oxbow batters.
Both teams are back in action on Thursday. The Panthers (1-2) host Montpelier, and Oxbow (4-2) travels to Danville.

Dashiel Fukushima struck out 10 in four innings, allowing just two hits and no walks. Charlie Bradley was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Rivendell. Timber Russell suffered the loss for Whitchester.
The Raptors (2-1) travel to Twinfield on Thursday.

Mascoma’s offense woke up in a big way trailing 5-0 headed into the home half of the fifth. Caleb McAlister had two hits and three RBIs as the Royals batted around. Ethan Brueckner added a pair of hits and two RBIs. Brennen Murphy singled to lead off the inning, stole two bases and then came around to scored.
“It was really nice to see them respond like they did today,” said Mascoma coach Dave Isom. “I’m proud of them for doing what we practice and bringing it out in a game.”
Devin Tetreault went the first 4⅓ innings on the bump, striking out five. Murphy added two-thirds of an inning and Tyler Warner threw two innings of strong relief, striking out four.
The Royals (1-3) host Monadnock on Thursday.

Freshman Harper Flint was 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Sean Shisko added a pair of hits, drove in two and scored three runs. Cade Robinson had a single and a double and two RBIs. Lane Smith was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. The Lakers had 13 hits as a team.
Quinn Fair got the win, striking out five while walking two. He allowed one earned run in the first four innings. Ducharme pitched an inning of relief. The Lakers (2-2) visit Newport on Thursday.

Webb had a 3-run triple and had two hits on the night. Stephen Bianchi was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Owen Tarleton had a hit and three RBIs.
“It was good to string together pitching, hitting and defense,” said Wasps coach Jason Tarleton. “We hadn’t done that yet.”
Sam Mitchell went all five innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five. Woodstock hosts Twin Valley on Thursday.

KUA trailed, 3-0, after two innings. Noah Spaulding held New Hampton scoreless for the final seven innings. The Wildcats host Tilton today.

Kyle Pelletier took the loss, allowing eight runs, seven earned, on seven hits in the first three innings. Kobe Benoit made his varsity debut on the mound with two innings of relief, striking out two while allowing two earned runs.
Ryan Nicholson and Graham Ten Haken each had RBI singles for Lebanon, which plays host to Kennett today.

“You can’t win a game like that,” Thetford coach Mike Pomeroy said.
Kaysea Neil was 4-for-5 with four runs scored for the O’s. Lilian Bartlett scored three times. Oxbow (4-1) travels to Woodstock on Monday.
Lily Vaughan struck out five for the Panthers, who fell to 2-1. Harlee Gray had a triple, one of five Thetford hits. The Panthers travel to Randolph on Saturday.

Blake Southworth struck out six and walked seven in four innings for South Royalton. She also hit a double and scored a run. Lilly Hudson and Paige Ballentine also scored. Nine of Twinfield’s runs came in the sixth and seventh innings.

Lizzie Peck, Emma Walker and Mackenzie Yates each had singles. Walker scored the lone Woodstock run. Peck pitched all five innings.
“We feel like we made some progress tonight,” said Woodstock coach Jane Hoisington. “It’s the small things right now, we’ll keep working at it.”

Vaillancourt finished the game 4-for-4 with six RBIs. Sammy Barcomb was 3-for-4 with a triple and a home run while scoring four runs. Trask had three hits of her own and scored three times. Hayley Mears had three hits, including a home run. Kayla Townsend was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a home run.
Trask struck out eight and walked just one to record the no-no. Whitchester hosts South Royalton on Friday.

Maddie McCorkle led the way with five goals and an assist. She also set a new school record with 13 draw controls in a single game. Hanover finished the game with a 29-31 advantage in draw controls. Cate Wagner added 11.
“We started working as a team more (in the second half),” said Hanover head coach Chris Seibel. “We got into our offensive sets, which opened up some passing lanes for us.”
Jess Seibel scored four goals and had an assist. Wagner netted three and had a helper. Hanover (4-4) travels to Portsmouth on Saturday.
Hartford 14, Spaulding 0
Barre, Vt.
Tayler Simmons netted three goals and freshman Zoey Pfeiffer scored twice and had two assists. Madison Druge and Carolyn North also scored twice for Hartford, which matched its win total from a year ago and extended its unblemished record to 6-0.
The Hurricanes travel to St. Johnsbury on Thrusday.

Gardner Gottshegen and Greene pulled out a victory in a lengthy, come-from-behind No. 1 doubles match, 4-6, 6-4, 10-7. Blake Heston and Bango won at No. 2 doubles, 6-4, 6-2. Montpelier edged Woodstock in all five singles matches.
The Wasps take on Burr & Burton on Friday.

Momo Biele set the tone at No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-3. The Wasps swept singles play with Grace Frazier (6-2, 6-1), Kenzie Biele (6-2, 6-2), Katie McMaster (6-2, 6-4) and Chloe Noble (6-1, 6-0) also winning.
“The scores don’t indicate how good Montpelier was. They’re all good, solid players. We were ready for a tussle, and it was really a great day,” Woodstock coach Tom Hopewell said.
Lydia Howe and Olivia Marsicovetere added a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles. The Wasps visit Burr & Burton this afternoon.

Steffen Torgersen scored the winning run from third base, scoring off a Sullivan line drive into left-center field. Austen Michel threw seven innings of one-hit, scoreless relief to earn the victory, striking out four along the way. He entered the game with a man on and nobody out in the seventh and proceeded to retire all but two of the 23 batters he faced — one reaching on an error — including the last 17 in a row.
Torgersen was 2-for-5 with two strikeouts, reaching base in the 13th inning with a single to right field. Dustin Shirley was 2-for-5. Dartmouth managed only six hits in the victory.
The Big Green (12-20-1 league, 8-6-1 Ivy) host Princeton in a three-game series this weekend. Game one begins Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

The Spartans poured on two runs in the second, third and fourth innings to take a 6-0 lead in game one. Colby-Sawyer’s Andrew Pratt hit a two-run single to right field in the fourth. Connor Henry finished the game 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Woodstock native Dougie Avellino was 2-for-4.
Castleton struck again early in game two, building a 2-0 lead after the second inning before putting up four more runs in the top of the seventh on three hits and three errors. Ryan Glendye struck out nine in six innings for Colby-Sawyer.
Avellino added two more hits in game two to bring his career total to 116 in three seasons. He ranks 17th all-time in hits and third in career batting avarage at .356 in program history.

Spencer is the first Big Green coach to earn the award since it was established in 2015. Dartmouth went 11-4 overall and 5-2 in the league, returning to the Ivy League tournament and appearing in the national rankings for the first time in five years.
Sophomore Kiera Vrindten (league-best 11 wins and 10.39 goals-against average) won the goalkeeper of the year award and made first-team all-Ivy with teammates Ellie Carson and Katie Bourque. Kathryn Giroux landed on the second team. It’s the first time in seven years Dartmouth has had three or more players on the first team.
Dartmouth heads to Princeton, N.J., to take on Penn in the Ivy tournament semifinals on Friday.
Heneghan Signs With 49ers
Hanover
Heneghan is an Atherton, Calif., native and had participated in the team’s pro day earlier in April. He led the Big Green to an 8-2 mark last season, including a 5-2 record in the Ivy League.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound senior is scheduled to report to the Niners’ rookie camp on Friday.
Dartmouth to Face Oregon in NCAAs

Dartmouth (20-5) is making its second appearance in the tournament in the last three seasons; its last appearance, in 2016, ended with a loss to Tulane in the tournament’s opening round after 20 years without a postseason berth. The Big Green finished their season with the fewest losses since 2012 this spring, going 6-1 in Ivy Leauge play to win its first conference title since 1997.
Oregon enters the championship with a 17-9 mark after seeing its regular season end with a 4-0 loss to UCLA in the Pac-12 Tournament last weekend.
