Madison Lapsley pitched a strong five innings to get the win, striking out three while allowing three runs on six hits and a walk. Morgan Rhoades pitched two innings of one-hit relief to close out the victory.
Coach Missy Nichols praised the work of the defense behind both pitchers; the Cardinals committed just two errors. Kaitlyn Chambers played a sure-handed game at first base, Lapsley made several good plays from the pitching circle and Tanner Brown and Jenna Pond also had strong showings with the glove.
The Cardinals broke the game open late with three runs in the sixth inning and another six in the seventh.
Makayla Maccioli had a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in two. Madeline Ferland drove in a run with a squeeze bunt. Chambers added a double and Amelia Parizo had a triple.
The Cardinals (2-0) will visit Mascoma at 4 p.m. on Friday.
Woodsville 16, Gorham 3 (5)
Woodsville
Sarah Britton led the offensive attack with three hits, including a double, two runs scored and three RBIs. Suzy Bazzell was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Morgan McHugh added two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs. McKenzie Dennis threw an inning of relief, striking out two.
Woodsville hosts Moultonborough on Friday afternoon.
Springfield 8, Windsor 7
Windsor
Trailing, 8-3, Windsor scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to make things tight at the end. Carah Rugg tossed a complete game for the Jacks, striking out 13 while allowing five hits and five walks. Rugg was also 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Jasmine Frazer was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Coach Heather Stearns praised the play of catcher Adi Prior.
Windsor (0-2) hosts Thetford on Tuesday.
Windsor 19, Springfield 2 (5)
Windsor
Robert Slocum went the first four innings for Windsor (3-0), striking out seven while allowing a run on one hit. Ryland Richardson had an inning of relief, striking out one.
Slocum was 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Adam Stapleton added two hits and drove in three. Senior Elijah Collier saw his first varsity action and was 1-for-1 with a walk, run scored and an RBI.
Windsor hosts Woodstock at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Monadnock 3, Stevens 2

Ethan Johnson, making his first career start on the mound, kept Stevens in the contest. Johnson threw 5⅓ innings, allowing four hits with three walks and three strikeouts. His teammates gave him a 2-0 lead early, as Brendan Bean drove home Drew Grenier in the first inning before scoring in the second on a Monadnock throwing error.
“To go against Monadnock in your first game, throw strikes and not get rattled, he did a fantastic job for us,” Stevens coach Paul Silva said of Johnson, a junior.
Alex Taylor and Trey Theriault both had two-hit days for the Cards, who are scheduled to visit Mascoma on Friday.

KUA rallied with three of the next five goals but couldn’t narrow the gap any closer from there. The Wildcats (3-2) host Proctor on Friday.
Dartmouth 16, Vermont 5

Michelle Yu led 10 different scorers for Dartmouth with three goals. Kellen D’Alleva also had three goals. Kierra Sweeney added a pair. Campbell Brewer, Tori Chanenchulk and Ellie Carson each had one goal. The Big Green led 10-0 at one point.
Giroux, a junior, had nine draw controls to become the first player in program history to reach 200 draw controls in a career. Giroux now has 204, including 79 this season alone.
Dartmouth hosts Yale at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
BC 8, Dartmouth 3

Matt Feinstein had three of Dartmouth’s nine hits, extending his hitting streak to eight games. The Big Green trailed, 3-0, into the top of the sixth inning. Dustin Shirley then beat out an infield ground ball to drive in a run before Hayden Rappoport drove in another when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Dartmouth added another run in the seventh on a RBI sacrifice fly by Kyle Holbrook.
Tyler Fagler started on the mound for the Big Green, allowing two runs, one earned, over three innings on three hits with three strikeouts. All nine of Dartmouth’s hits were singles. Shirley added two hits.
The Big Green (5-3-1 Ivy) visits Ivy League-leading Yale (15-15, 9-3 Ivy) this weekend for a three-game series, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday.
