New York — J.T. Realmuto homered and drove in four runs in his season debut after coming off the disabled list, leading Jarlin Garcia and the Miami Marlins to a 9-1 blowout of the sloppy New York Yankees on Tuesday night.

Garcia (1-0) gave up one hit in five shutout innings, overcoming five early walks to win for the first time as a starter. Miguel Andujar doubled off the base of the left-center wall with one out in the fifth off Garcia — who held the New York Mets hitless for six innings last week at home in his first major league start.

One night after a 12-1 loss in the Bronx, the last-place Marlins (5-12) turned the tables to split the two-game series. The listless Yankees committed two costly errors in the first two innings as Miami built a 4-0 lead and finished 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position.

Slumping slugger Giancarlo Stanton struck out two more times and grounded into a double play, finishing 0 for 4 and drawing boos from Yankees fans again. Last year’s NL MVP, traded to New York in the offseason as part of a payroll purge by new Marlins CEO and former Yankees captain Derek Jeter, went hitless in his first series against his former team.

Stanton is 3 for 35 (.086) with 20 strikeouts at home this season.

Indians 6, Twins 1

San Juan, Puerto Rico — Francisco Lindor homered in his native Puerto Rico, Corey Kluber allowed one run in 6⅔ innings and Cleveland beat Minnesota.

Michael Brantley and Jose Ramirez each had three hits for Cleveland in the first regular-season game on the island commonwealth since 2010. Brantley and Ramirez hit consecutive homers in the sixth, and Yonder Alonso added a solo homer in the eighth for Cleveland.

Kluber (2-1) gave up five hits and struck out six, lowering his ERA to 1.52.

Tigers 4, Orioles 2

Detroit — Victor Martinez homered for the first time since August, and Detroit snapped a five-game losing streak.

Martinez hit a two-run shot in the second, and Jeimer Candelario hit a tiebreaking triple in the fifth for Detroit. Francisco Liriano (2-1) allowed two runs and five hits in five innings. He struck out seven and walked three.

Rockies 2, Pirates 0

Pittsburgh — Chad Bettis pitched into the eighth inning and combined with three relievers on a five-hitter, and Colorado beat Pittsburgh on a snowy night.

Bettis allowed five hits in 7⅓ innings, striking out three and walking two. Bryan Shaw and Jake McGee got the ball to Wade Davis, who pitched a perfect ninth for his NL-leading eighth save.

The announced attendance was 8,869, but there appeared to be fewer than 2,000 fans at PNC Park. The Pirates offered ticket vouchers for games later in the season to fans who came through the turnstiles.

Rangers 7, Rays 2

St. Petersburg, Fla. — Matt Moore allowed an unearned run over seven innings in his first start against his former team and Texas beat Tampa Bay.

Moore (1-3), who went 39-28 with Tampa Bay before being dealt to San Francisco in 2016, struck out six with five hits and two walks. The Rangers acquired the left-hander from the Giants in December.

Nationals 5, Mets 2

New York — Gio Gonzalez improved to 11-1 at Citi Field, Trea Turner kept Washington in gear all game and the Nationals beat New York.

A day after topping the Mets with an eighth-inning rally from a five-run deficit, the Nationals never trailed. Bryce Harper put them ahead early with a sacrifice fly and slumping Ryan Zimmerman hit a late RBI single for insurance.

Blue Jays 11, Royals 3Blue Jays 5, Royals 4 (10)

Toronto — Luke Maile singled down the right-field line with the bases loaded in the 10th inning, and Toronto walked off with a 5-4 victory over Kansas City to sweep a rare doubleheader at Rogers Centre.

Toronto won the opener, 11-3, and has swept all three doubleheaders at its retractable-roof stadium, which opened in 1989.

Brewers 2, Reds 0

Milwaukee — Eric Thames hit a two-run homer to back a three-hitter from Junior Guerra and three relievers, lifting Milwaukee over Cincinnati.

Reds starter Sal Romano (0-2) had a two-hit shutout going before Lorenzo Cain walked and Thames sent the first pitch he saw over the wall in right for his team-leading sixth home run. Thames was back in the lineup after leaving Sunday’s game with a left groin strain and sitting Monday.

Phillies 5, Braves 1 (10)

Atlanta — Philadelphia finally came through in the clutch, getting a two-out, two-run double from Rhys Hoskins in the 10th inning and beating Atlanta.

Hoskins had struck out three times when he faced Jose Ramirez (0-2) with two runners aboard. On a 2-2 pitch, the Phillies cleanup hitter lined a slicing drive against the wall in the right-field corner, clearing the bases. Maikel Franco added another two-run double before the inning was done, sending what was left of the small crowd headed for the exits except for one irate Braves fan whose rant could be heard throughout the stadium.
