West Windsor, Vt. —
A proud Vermont resident for over 30 years, John remained in touch with his deeply rooted Virginia heritage and extolled the virtues of southern traditions and cuisine to all his northern friends. His love of fishing, books and gardening was legendary. He had a story for every occasion and then some. His generous spirit touched so many lives, he will be remembered and missed.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Bliss, daughter Rebecca Williams, Marilyn Williams, Rebecca’s mother, step-daughter Dana Zeilinger, son-in-law Brian Benoit, brother Gene Cocke and myriad Virginia cousins.
Arrangements are being made by Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, Vt.
