The bride-to-be graduated from Hanover High School in 2006 and earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., in 2010. She earned a master’s degree in counseling from St. Bonaventure University in Bonaventure, N.Y., in 2013 and works for the federal government in Maryland.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Victoria and David Rankin, of La Plata, Md. He graduated from Henry E. Lackey High School in La Plata in 2005 and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Towson University in Towson, Md., in 2010. He is employed as a senior project manager in commercial construction in Fredricksburg, Va.
The couple live in La Plata and plan an October wedding in Kitty Hawk, N.C.
