Quail Hollow Senior Living Projects Receive Lebanon Zoning Board OK

Lebanon — Plans to build a 40-unit apartment building at the Quail Hollow Senior Living Community cleared an initial regulatory hurdle last week, when the Lebanon Zoning Board voted to approve the project. Developers in January proposed building a new, three-story building called the Lake House behind Quail Hollow’s existing River House buildings off of Route 10.

The project, they said, was needed to alleviate an existing senior housing shortage.

In its decision last week, the Zoning Board mandated that developers refrain from future construction on the roughly 12-acre plot slated for the new construction. The board also ordered developers to build a sidewalk along Route 10 from Quail Drive to Richardson Place.

The city’s Planning Board will next review the project, but no date has been set for a hearing.

Senate-Passed Bill Would Add Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

Concord — Two additional medical marijuana dispensaries would open in New Hampshire under a bill passed by the state Senate.

Lawmakers legalized medical use of marijuana for the treatment of a limited number of conditions in 2013, and it can be purchased at licensed alternative treatment centers in Lebanon, Dover, Merrimack and Plymouth. A bill passed by the Senate last week would authorize the state to establish another dispensary in Carroll, Coos or Grafton counties, and a fifth location that would serve Cheshire and Sullivan counties.

The bill now goes to the House.
