Grab your dancing shoes Upper Valley!
This Saturday there are four community dances to choose from: a superhero-themed prom in Hartland, a ball in White River Junction, a contra dance in South Strafford and a ballroom, swing and Latin dance in Hanover.
But what to do for dinner before the dances begin? Attend one of five community dinners offered before the dances begin.

Sugar on Snow Supper in Hartford: 5 p.m. Ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, rolls and maple syrup on snow with raised doughnuts and pickles. Lasagna Supper in East Corinth: 5-7 p.m. A selection of traditional, Mexican and vegetarian lasagnas, salad, bread, butter, beverage and homemade desserts. Takeout is available. Cost is by donation. Ham and Baked Bean Supper in West Lebanon: 5-6:30 p.m. Ham and beans with homemade brownies and ice cream for dessert. Call ahead for takeout at 603-298-8096 (available at 5 p.m.). Roast Beef Dinner in Orford: 5:30-7 p.m. Everything homemade. Seating in order of arrival. Admission by donation to benefit the mission, ministry and maintenance of the church. United Congregational Church of Orford, 617 Route 10. 603-353-4364.
Italian Dinner in Springfield, Vt.: 5:30 p.m. A selection of lasagnas — meat, vegetarian and gluten-free — as well as salad, garlic bread, beverages, risotto and homemade biscotti. Reservations required: email Deb at uuspringfieldvt@gmail.com or call the church at 802-885-3327. Cost: $15 for adults and $8 for children. All proceeds benefit the church’s Youth Opportunity Fund. Mud Ball in White River Junction: 6:30-11 p.m. The 10th annual Mud Ball benefits children’s programs at the Upper Valley Haven. Food by Piecemeal Pies, cash bar, auctions and dancing with Nick’s Other Band. Tickets are $85 in advance, $95 at the door. Newberry Market, 5 S. Community Prom in Hartland: 7-10 p.m. Come alone, with a date or with family. Dress up or dress down. Parents are encouraged to attend with kids 13 and under. Ballroom, Swing and Latin Dance in Hanover: 7:30-11 p.m. 7:30 p.m.: Introduction to country waltz, taught by Jamie Orr. Free with admission to the dance. 8-11 p.m.: Open dancing. Orr will play a mix of ballroom, Latin, East and West Coast swing, country, nightclub two-step and Argentine tango. No partner required. Carry in clean shoes. Cost: $10 ($5 for students). Richard W. Contradance in South Strafford: 8-11 p.m. Live music by Alden Robinson (fiddle) and Dan Faiella (guitar, low whistle); caller, Don Stratton. No partner or experience necessary. Regular dance starts at 8 p.m., but newcomers may arrive at 7:45 p.m. for a walk-through. Bring clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing and potluck snacks to share at the break.
